Features: Selected couplets of the Qing Dynasty is arranged in chronological order by the birth year of the authors, including approximately 800 couplets composed by about 300 couplets masters from Li Yu to Liang Qichao, each accompanied by a brief appreciation. During the compilation process, for the same couplet recorded differently in various books, we repeatedly verified and selected the better version. For those with significant disputes and uncertain interpretations, they were excluded from selection. Due to space limitations, couplets longer than 300 characters were not included in this book. Some celebrities from the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China, such as Zhang Binglin and Ma Xiangbo, whose couplets often involved major figures and events of the Republic of China, were categorized into Famous Couplets of the Republic of China (to be published by Shanxi Ancient Books Publishing House), and are not repeated here. Although the included couplets each have their own unique characteristics, some were created under special historical contexts, which raises issues regarding the evaluation of historical figures and the inheritance of cultural heritage. In this regard, we should conduct a realistic and specific analysis, avoiding simplistic comparisons between the works of predecessors and today's reality, or making biased judgments based on our own perspectives to impose unreasonable demands on them. Some of these points have already been explained in the brief annotations.
