Features: Laboratory Diagnosis (Laboatotydiagnosis) is a part of diagnostic medicine and serves as a bridge discipline between basic medical science and clinical medicine. The Laboratory Diagnosis textbook is an important course in the higher medical and pharmaceutical education textbook system, being a required course for both five-year and seven-year students. The National Association for the Construction of Higher Medical and Pharmaceutical Textbooks organized relevant experts and professors to write and publish the fifth edition of Diagnosis (including Laboratory Diagnosis) for five-year students in 2000, as well as Laboratory Diagnosis for seven-year students. These two textbooks were developed to adapt to the reform and development of higher medical (pharmaceutical) education in China, with the focus on cultivating advanced medical talents for the 21st century. The content has been significantly updated to combine inheritance with modernity and advancement. The Laboratory Diagnosis Practical Guide was written by the editorial committee of the seven-year Laboratory Diagnosis textbook, following the same principles and guiding ideology as the 2001 edition of Laboratory Diagnosis. This practical guide is a supplementary textbook for the standard Laboratory Diagnosis curriculum, available for use by five-year and seven-year students during their practical training. The writing emphasizes the combination of theory and practice, experiments and clinical application, and focuses on cultivating students' practical and thinking abilities. Therefore, this practical guide highlights practicality, usability, inspiration, and advancement. In terms of content, it is divided into two parts: the Upper Part (Experimental Section) and the Lower Part (Exercise Section). The Upper Part consists of nine chapters: "General Blood Examination," "Bone Marrow Cytology Examination," "Thrombosis and Hemostasis Examination," "Urine and Renal Function Examination," "Examination of Body Fluids, Secretions, and Excreta," "Clinical Chemistry Examination," "Clinical Immunology Examination," "Clinical Cytogenetics Examination," and "Clinical Pathogen Examination." The Lower Part includes exercises such as multiple-choice questions, short-answer questions, case studies, and case analyses. Since there is currently no unified teaching syllabus for Laboratory Diagnosis in higher medical and pharmaceutical institutions in China, and the total number of teaching hours, as well as the hours for theoretical and practical courses, vary greatly, the application of the Laboratory Diagnosis Practical Guide can be organized and flexibly arranged according to the actual conditions of each institution. The content can be appropriately selected and combined.
