Publish Date: 2005-02-01
Features: Pediatrics is a medical science that focuses on the growth and development, health care, and prevention and treatment of diseases in children. The third edition of this book retains the basic writing system of the second edition while making necessary modifications. Some chapters have been significantly revised, such as the removal of chapters on "Other Diseases," developmental psychology and educational characteristics of children, neonatal vomiting, and primary thrombocytopenic purpura. New chapters on "Connective Tissue Diseases" and content on neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, pediatric obesity, zinc deficiency, anorexia, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) have been added. The book includes more content than the latest syllabus, but the total number of study hours does not exceed the prescribed limit. It is recommended that the added sections, "Growth and Development Monitoring of Infants and Toddlers" and "Septic Shock," be taught (mandatory), while the rest are optional.
