Excerpt: Going to the village head to complain and swindling a few dozen yuan for medical expenses. The few more attractive women in the village, he could touch them freely without paying a cent. If they refused, he would accuse them of having affairs with someone else, speaking convincingly and often hitting the nail on the head, leaving them helpless. As for the outsiders, whether they came to steal wood or fruits, or to steal local women, he would stroll around the village aimlessly, making it easy for him to take advantage of them. He firmly claimed to be the vice village head and head of the militia company, scaring them into handing over money to him. Many women in the village had long believed Mao Defu was the vice village head, and many dared not him. However, there were times when he couldn’t avoid getting involved. That summer, the village finally managed to invite a film projector to show a movie. The old and young gathered early at the primary school playground, eager to watch. Mao Defu, meanwhile, hid upstairs, writing his love novels. When he came downstairs for a drink, he realized everyone had left for the movie. He opened the door and looked outside—it was pitch black, except for Chen Yaba’s house, which still had a light on. Mao Defu had long envied Chen Yaba for marrying a fair-skinned woman. He wished there was a man stealing that woman right now so he could take advantage of the situation. So, he tiptoed over to the window with the light. Coincidentally, there was a hole in the plastic sheeting, and he peered through. Hey, it turned out the woman was sitting in a large basin, taking a bath. Her long hair covered her face, but her body was bare, especially her two firm breasts, which stood out prominently. She kept rubbing herself, almost driving Mao Defu to death. Mao Defu wanted to see more, but the hole in the window wasn’t in the right position to satisfy his small desire. Just as Mao Defu was turning in circles, the woman finished her bath, put on her underwear, and went to bed, turning off the light. Mao Defu felt uncomfortable, unsure of what to do. He didn’t want to go to the movie, so he kept walking around Chen Yaba’s house. After about half an hour, Mao Defu began figuring out how to get into the woman’s room. He went to the main gate, pushed it, but it was locked. Then he went to the small kitchen door, and hey, it was ajar. Most families in the village had the same habit. Mao Defu had been to his house many times and knew its layout well. Soon, he found the woman’s bedroom. The door was closed but not locked. He gently pushed it open and found the woman sleeping soundly, emitting sweet breaths. Mao Defu calmly took off his clothes, slipped into the bed, and touched the woman. Her body was unusually soft and smooth. He worried she might wake up and recognize him. But unexpectedly, the woman rolled over and embraced his neck, putting one leg over him. No more hesitation, Mao Defu reminded himself. He quickly removed the covers and engaged in his "gentlemanly business." The woman murmured softly, responding to Mao Defu with remarkable. After finishing, Mao Defu gently stroked the woman, who fell back into a sweet sleep. He dressed and quietly left Chen Yaba’s house, heading home and lying in bed, savoring the wonderful moments.
Meanwhile, Chen Yaba returned home after watching the movie. With the reform and opening up, the films no longer showed only gunfights and politics, but also depicted intimate scenes between men and women. Although the scenes were few, they stirred Chen Yaba. As soon as he got into bed, he began touching his wife’s body. She was sleeping deeply, but clearly annoyed by his actions.
