Features: The essays collected in this book are all written by scholars from Pingyang and Cangnan counties regarding the folk culture of old Pingyang. The reason we chose old Pingyang for our research is that it has a unique historical, geographical environment, socio-economic structure, and an exceptionally rich heritage of folk culture. This collection includes 12 essays, with the first being an overview that briefly introduces the general of Pingyang and Cangnan counties. These two counties were originally part of one larger county, known as old Pingyang, which was divided into two in 1981. This paper focuses on the historical and geographical evolution of old Pingyang, its transportation and economic structure, the characteristics of its population and dialects, as well as the inheritance of religious beliefs and folk culture. It aims to highlight the uniqueness of its human geography and traditional folk culture, as well as the importance of conducting research on it. The essays are divided into two parts based on topics. In summary, this is a collection of research papers on folk culture written by local scholars.
