Features: The academic conference on the history of China's ethnic relations has successfully concluded. In accordance with the requirements of the conference organizers, the Department of History at Minzu University of China was responsible for editing the conference proceedings, which were published as the academic journal Ethnic History Studies. The editing process of the proceedings was completed on September 20, 2001. In line with the principle of "freedom of thought and expression," the editorial board decided that all papers from this conference would be included in the proceedings, except for those already published in relevant journals, those submitted only with abstracts without full texts, and those that do not pertain to ethnic relations. To encourage scholars to express their views freely and foster a vibrant academic atmosphere, the editors made necessary revisions in terms of writing style and formatting, but did not impose their own interpretations on the selection of paper viewpoints or content.
