1. The first two volumes of this tutorial are introductory. Starting from this volume, it enters the basic technical training of sight-singing and ear-training, mainly including basic rhythmic patterns with dotted notes, major and minor thirds, pure unison, pure octave, pure fourth, pure fifth intervals, major and minor triads, and the listening training of the primary triads within a key with one sharp or flat. Therefore, if students have not fully mastered the content of the second volume, they should strictly review before learning this volume.
2. There are numerous exercises and examples in the listening training, and teachers can select them based on students' conditions when "setting questions."
3. Since children have not yet taken music theory or harmony classes, but from the perspective of listening training, the earlier they learn, the better. Therefore, we cannot wait for children to grow up to learn "ear-training," thus losing the precious and irreplaceable "golden period"! For this reason, in the process of writing the listening training, we try to let them start from a perceptual and practical approach to recognize those "complex" music theory, harmony, and sight-singing knowledge that is difficult for them. However, there are still some necessary concepts and definitions of music theory and harmony that need to be explained to them. Therefore, teachers should pay attention to the following issues:
(1) The text part in the book is mainly provided for teachers as a reference. When teaching, it is important to explain it in an easy-to-understand way by combining examples and diagrams, avoiding excessive demands for children to memorize those "definitions" and terms.
(2) Teachers should lead students to practice repeatedly according to the "Exercise Suggestions" to strengthen their perceptual understanding.
(3) Teachers should cultivate students' correct learning methods and a "strive for excellence" attitude from the beginning. During sight-singing and ear-training, students should neither be impatient nor "go through the motions" in terms of pitch accuracy, rhythm, meter, and harmony listening.
4. All sight-singing and dictation exercises in the book were written by the author according to requirements.
