Author: Zhao Shenzhen
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2001-03-01
Features: This book is relatively short but rich in content and written in fluent literature. The author, a Hanlin scholar, served as an imperial official for over ten years and was involved in academic inspections multiple times. In his later years, he held several high-ranking regional positions, making him well-versed in political anecdotes, imperial examinations, and official duties. The descriptions in the book are particularly detailed, while also covering aspects such as civil affairs, finance, anecdotes of scholars, local customs, mountains and rivers, and historical changes in geography. Thus, it holds significant reference value for research on mid-Qing politics, economy, military, culture, and social life. This book is not widely circulated. According to the collator, only one edition—Zhjiang Guanzi Pinyin edition from the Republic of China—exists. This collation is based on that edition. The book consists of one volume, divided into two parts (upper and lower), with twelve lines per half-page and thirty-two characters per line, without prefaces or postfaces. An appendix titled "Brief Biography of Wu Ling Zhao Wenke Gong" is included, which has also been collated and included here.
