Features: This issue includes seven papers, two communications, and one article from the twelve volumes of Chinese academic papers, as well as thirteen book reviews. Among them, Rao Zongyi's article "Saka and Soma" explores the origins of the so-called "immortality elixir" in China and abroad by citing records of newly unearthed Qin bamboo slips and tracing Persian documents. Wang Yao's "Westward to Yangguan, with Old Friends" is a review of the Dunhuang Tibetan manuscripts. The other two articles, "Su Ruo" by Guo Yuhua and Sun Liping, and "From Actor to Literary Worker" by Zhang Lianhong, discuss case studies in the formation of national concepts and state systems in the early days of the People's Republic of China.
