Lu Shuxiang Collection · Volume 5

Author: Lü Shuxiang
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2004-11-01
Features: This collection of essays does not include all the texts written by the author. Some scattered articles and single publications were excluded for various reasons. The collection consists of six volumes. Volume I is Essentials of Chinese Grammar, and Volume II is Collected Papers on Chinese Grammar, both of which have been published as standalone books. Volume III is Continued Papers on Chinese Grammar, which includes the previously published standalone works Modern Chinese Demonstratives and grammar papers written after 1980. Volume IV is Essays on Language and Literature, based on the 1983-published Lü Shuxiang's Essays on Language and Literature, supplemented with non-specialized articles from after 1983, along with some revisions and reorganization. Volume V contains four single-language publications: Common Topics on Language, Miscellaneous Notes on Language, Comments on Annotating Ancient Books, and Chinese People Learning English. Volume VI is the Translated Works Collection, which is the 1983-published Lü Shuxiang's Translated Works. Lastly, like most authors, I hope readers can find some value in my books rather than entirely useless content. This is my sincere wish. Comrade Zhang Wankai of Commercial Press has done extensive proofreading for the entire collection, and Professor Jiang Weisong of Shandong University wrote the book title. My heartfelt thanks go to them both. Lü Shuxiang January 1, 1989
