Features: The National Foreign Language Proficiency Test (NFLPT) is a foreign language proficiency test organized by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. Initially, it only included the English Proficiency Test, used to assess the English proficiency of students planning to study abroad in English-speaking countries. With the intensification of China's reform efforts and the development of foreign exchanges, the test has gradually expanded to include five languages: English, Japanese, Russian, German, and French. This test is organized and implemented by the National Education Examination Center. To better serve the nation in selecting high-quality talent for overseas studies, under the recommendation of the Secretariat of the China Scholarship Council, the Examination Center convened the National Foreign Language Proficiency Test – English Proficiency Test Symposium in 1996 and the National Foreign Language Proficiency Test – French, German, Japanese, and Russian Proficiency Test Symposium in 1997, and published the minutes of the meetings.
