Features: This book is revised based on the requirements of the "Teaching Syllabus for Theoretical Mechanics" (Draft) for mechanical, civil engineering, water conservancy, and aviation majors in higher industrial schools, which was reviewed and approved in May 1980 (120 hours). It is based on the "Solutions Manual for Theoretical Mechanics" edited by Wang Duo, containing 700 problems (1st edition, December 1994), and is now renamed "Guidance and Exercises for Theoretical Mechanics." The book is divided into two volumes: Volume 1 covers statics and kinematics, while Volume 2 covers dynamics and special topics. A total of 1,400 problems are selected, most of which are basic and universally applicable to various disciplines. To encourage readers to think deeply, about 10% of difficult problems are also included for optional practice, marked with an asterisk () in their numbering. Each chapter includes four parts: content summary, problem-solving steps, examples, and exercises. This book can serve as a teaching reference for faculty and students of various engineering disciplines in higher education institutions, as well as for relevant engineering professionals. Without the publisher's consent, the solutions to the exercises in this book may not be published.
