The summary of strata of each period is organized by system, dividing each period's strata into several sub-regions and sub-zones, which are described separately. The content includes lithology of each formation, horizontal changes of contained organisms, thickness, and contact relationships, etc. It explores the characteristics of paleobiota assemblages of each period and discusses the boundary issues between each system, with a special focus on the basin-mountain comparison of each system. The second volume presents the stratigraphic tables of each sub-region. The stratigraphic tables of each sub-region treat the Tarim Basin and its surrounding areas as a first-level stratigraphic region, which is further divided into 11 stratigraphic sub-regions and 29 sub-zones. The stratigraphic tables are compiled based on the unit of each sub-zone.
