Features: This book is a report on the excavation work of the Dongguan Ruins in the ancient city of Yuanqu, Shanxi, from 1982 to 1986. The site contains remains of the Yangshao Culture (phases 1-4), the early, middle, and late phases of the Miaodigou II Culture, the early and late phases of the Longshan Culture, as well as remains from the Shang, Zhou, and Song dynasties. This report systematically conducts chronological studies of the remains from each of these periods and provides an in-depth exploration of the understanding of each culture, as well as the relationships between each period's culture and the surrounding neighboring cultures. The report concludes by discussing the central role of the Dongguan Ruins in the surrounding primitive cultural remains.
