Features: This report presents all the data and research findings from the excavations at the Wulijsi Site in Mengcheng County, Anhui Province, from autumn 1989 to spring 1995. The site is a large settlement from the Dawenkou period in northern Anhui, featuring a large moat, groups of red clay building foundations, burials, animal pits, sacrificial pits, and various artifacts. Additionally, the site has revealed burials, ash pits, and other Longshan period remains, along with various artifacts. The discovery and study of the Wulijsi Site have filled the gaps in research on Dawenkou culture settlements, established a new regional type of Dawenkou culture—Wulijsi type—and hold significant academic value for comprehensive studies on the analysis area, settlement morphology, burial systems, and the relationship between the site and contemporary cultures in surrounding regions. This book is suitable for archaeologists, cultural relic enthusiasts, and students and teachers of relevant majors in colleges and universities.
