Features: The history of planting mulberry and breeding silkworms in China is long-standing. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, especially after the reform and opening-up, the silk industry has developed rapidly. In recent years, the area of mulberry plantations has been continuously expanding, while the types of diseases and pests on mulberry trees have increased, and their severity of occurrence and damage has intensified, often leading to reduced mulberry leaf yield and quality, severely affecting the output and quality of silkworm cocoons. To ensure steady development in the silk industry production and achieve high-yield, high-quality silk cocoons, we provide targeted solutions. We introduce the morphological characteristics, pathogens, and occurrence patterns of mulberry diseases and pests, as well as their prevention and control methods, using a text-and-image comparison approach. The writing aims to be easy to understand, allowing readers to identify and determine the types of diseases and pests through (physical comparison images) and find effective prevention and control methods in the book.
