Features: In the 1940s, modern oral history emerged in Western developed countries, while in China, oral history remains a relatively young and emerging discipline. This advanced forum also held academic lectures and academic discussions. At the academic lecture session, Yu Heping, Bu Ping, Wang Hezhong, Zhou Xinguo, Tan Jihuo, and Yao Li delivered academic lectures. Zhang Xianwen, Cui Zhiqing, Zhu Hanquan, Zhu Yuanshi, and Zhu Jianping reviewed and looked ahead to the research on oral history in mainland China, exchanging experiences in conducting oral history research. They also discussed fundamental concepts of oral history, as well as the working norms, standards, and principles for conducting oral history. The forum classified oral history as a sub-discipline and established the "Chinese Oral History Society" as a secondary society under the Chinese Cultural History Society. It approved the "Charter of the Chinese Oral History Society," elected leadership institutions and working teams, and must strongly promote the academic research, development, and discipline construction of oral history in mainland China.
