Features: This book provides detailed solutions to each exercise in the original textbook Mechanics (Physics Major), compiled into a separate volume. It can be used as a supplement to the textbook or as a standalone guide for students studying other mechanics textbooks. To help readers gain a deeper understanding of mechanics and understand the author's intent in creating the exercises, the preface of the textbook is reproduced as the foreword of this book. The textbook Mechanics (Physics Major) was written for physics majors in science and engineering universities. The main content covers classical mechanics, followed by an introduction to the kinematics and dynamics of point particles in special relativity. Mechanics is a foundational course for first-year university students. While the basic concepts are taught in high school physics, they are often presented in a superficial manner. Additionally, many students, influenced by the college entrance examination, focus more on solving problems for scores rather than developing a systematic understanding of classical mechanics. Given that this gap can negatively impact their learning in subsequent theoretical courses, the teaching content of mechanics emphasizes integration and coherence. The main structure of the textbook follows traditional methods to demonstrate the inherent systematic nature of classical mechanics. With years of teaching experience, the author has come to realize that well-designed problems not only help students apply theoretical knowledge to solve practical problems but also enhance their interest in physics. During the writing process, the author deliberately compiled and selected exercises for each chapter, categorizing them into two groups—A (easier) and B (more challenging)—and included them at the end of each chapter. All solutions are compiled into this book and published alongside the textbook for students to refer to after completing the exercises.
