Features: Linear algebra theory has a long history and rich content. In recent years, with the development of science and technology, especially the increasing use of electronic computers, as one of the important mathematical tools, the application of linear algebra has been deeply integrated into various fields such as natural sciences, social sciences, engineering technology, economics, and management. As a result, many departments in universities have made linear algebra one of the compulsory foundational courses, while also advancing in strengthening fundamentals, computation, and application. This has raised higher requirements for the teaching content and methods of linear algebra. How to master the basic theoretical knowledge of the linear algebra course, skillfully grasp its methods, and flexibly apply them in practice is the main task of linear algebra teaching. How to reform this important engineering mathematics course, linear algebra, is a topic worth researching. Based on these understandings, we have compiled the textbook Linear Algebra and Its Applications. This book emphasizes both theoretical foundations and practical applications, catering to the development needs of applied undergraduate students while also serving as a reference for other types of students or working professionals. The first six chapters cover all the content required by the basic course standards of linear algebra; the last two chapters introduce common application problems in linear algebra and demonstrate the use of MATLAB software for linear algebra operations, providing a new approach for cultivating students in applied undergraduate institutions. Through the study of these contents, we hope to enhance students' ability to analyze and solve practical problems using the knowledge they have learned.
