Features: This dictionary is designed for primary school teachers and students for teaching and learning purposes. It focuses on helping readers understand the key points of seven different types of complex sentences and master the meaning and usage of each pair or individual connecting words. The dictionary is arranged in the order of "Parallel Complex Sentences," "Progressive Complex Sentences," "Alternative Complex Sentences," "Concessive Complex Sentences," "Causal Complex Sentences," "Hypothetical Complex Sentences," and "Conditional Complex Sentences." Within each section, common and frequently used connecting words are listed in the order of "Paired Usage of Connecting Words" and "Single Usage of Connecting Words." The dictionary includes 195 common and frequently used connecting words, of which 149 are used in pairs and 46 are used individually. To save space, 27 paired connecting words are provided in parentheses after the main entry. Connecting words mainly refer to a part of conjunctions, adverbs, and certain phrases. The connecting words of complex sentences are words used in complex sentences to establish a logical relationship between clauses. To help students understand the connecting words of complex sentences in a more detailed and specific way, each entry is followed by the part of speech, grammatical features, function, collocation, stylistic tone, scope of use, and precautions of the connecting word, marked with "Tips" and "Notes." Each entry in the dictionary provides corresponding usage examples to demonstrate the various active uses of the connecting word in sentences, marked with "Usage." Connecting words used in various types of complex sentences are enclosed in parentheses for easy understanding and to facilitate comprehension of complex sentences and mastery of connecting word usage. The dictionary includes 4,358 example sentences of connecting word combinations. The rich examples can be used by language teachers to design various types of exercises for students, as well as for students to practice and for parents to assist their children. The difficult characters in the main text of the dictionary are provided with Pinyin annotations in parentheses.
