Features: Badminton is a new sport that has flourished nationwide since March 1984, when the former State Physical Culture and Sports Commission issued the "Decision on Listing Badminton as a National Official Competition Event." Currently, national badminton competitions include the annual National Badminton Championships and the National Middle School Badminton Tournament. It is also listed as an official event in the National Minority Games, Farmers' Games, and Middle School Games. Competitions organized at the local level are also very common. In 1999, the International Badminton Federation was established, and the first World Badminton Championships were held in 2000. To promote national sports and further develop badminton, as well as to improve the professional skills of badminton referees, this book, "Badminton Competition Rules and Refereeing Methods," is published for the use and reference of badminton enthusiasts, coaches, and referees.
