Features: The 2005 Zhongkao (senior high school entrance examination) had just ended, and the next round of the exam was already on the agenda for many candidates and parents. Many readers in Beijing recently called or wrote to ask if we could publish a book of Beijing Zhongkao simulation tests. Faced with such strong demand, we were reluctant to slacken. To support Beijing candidates in their round of review, the Zhongkao Test Research Team of Beijing Tianli Exam Information Network, in collaboration with the Exam Research Center of the National Learning Science Research Association, organized a large team of experts. They sorted and analyzed nearly 100 simulation tests from various districts and counties in Beijing. Based on a thorough comparison and summary of the content, question types, quantity, scoring, difficulty coefficients, and of the tests from different regions, they selected the most representative and excellent papers to compile this book.
When using this book, please note:
1. The round of review for the exam is primarily focused on reviewing basic textbook knowledge, supplemented by a small number of exercises for consolidation. This book includes only 12 representative simulation tests from the newest collection, for candidates to use as a diagnostic review.
2. Since candidates from experimental regions of the Basic Education Curriculum Reform will account for one-third of all examinees in 2006, the, format, and of the reform-based Zhongkao will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the design of local Zhongkao tests in 2006. To help candidates familiarize themselves with the new exam, we have selected one reform-based Zhongkao test for each subject.
3. To meet your actual review needs, the English edition of this book is accompanied by an audio cassette with listening exercises. The cassette is read by American experts, and its pronunciation and speed meet the requirements of the newest Zhongkao.
