Clinical imaging and pathology of bone tumors

Author: Fang Zhiwei
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2002-02-01
Features: Bone tumors, especially malignant bone tumors, differ greatly from malignant tumors of other internal organs in the human body. They are diverse in type, complex in location, and exhibit significant differences in pathological types and malignancy levels. There are many distinctive features in their diagnosis and treatment. Based on years of clinical, teaching, and research experience, and referencing the latest domestic and international materials in recent years, the author elaborates on the imaging characteristics of bone tumors, key points of pathological diagnosis, and principles of clinical treatment, providing a reference for clinicians and professionals in imaging and pathology departments. The book has the following features:
1. For each type of tumor, there are imaging data (X-ray, CT, MRI) and pathological data, with clear and straightforward images, making it easy for readers to grasp the diagnostic characteristics.
2. In addition to imaging, pathology, and clinical diagnosis, special laboratory tests and genetic diagnosis are introduced to readers, helping them stay updated with the latest international technologies.
3. In terms of the classification and incidence rates of bone tumors (no national statistics available in China yet), materials from China and developed countries such as the United States, Japan, and Europe are presented for comparison and reference.
4. International standards, such as pathological classification, diagnostic criteria, stage classification, surgical methods, chemotherapy protocols, radiation principles, efficacy evaluation, and survival rate statistics (e.g., those from the WHO), are detailed for readers, enabling China's bone tumor diagnosis and treatment to align with international practices.
5. At the end of the book, internationally recognized guidelines for evaluating the treatment of bone tumors are included for reference.
The target readers of this book are clinicians and professionals in imaging and pathology departments.
