Features: Biodiversity conservation is a highly valued issue in the international community today, as it is the foundation for human survival and development. Protected areas are specific natural regions designated for the protection, utilization, monitoring, and research of natural resources and natural environments, including biodiversity. They serve as scientific research bases for human understanding, utilization, and transformation of nature, primary sites for the protection, development, and research of wildlife resources and natural heritage, as well as repositories and gene banks for natural ecosystems and genetic resources. Strengthening the construction of protected areas is of great significance for biodiversity conservation. The Guangxi Shanshan Mountain Protected Area was established on June 1982 by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region People's Government as a regional-level protected area. The reserve is located at the junction of Shangsi County and Fangchenggang City, with the main protected targets being water-conserving forests, seasonal rainforests, and mountain evergreen broadleaf forests, as well as the type specimen origin of mountain evergreen broadleaf forests.
