The author believes that when painting, one should not have too many reservations or be overly concerned with resembling anyone else. We discover beauty in nature, and if it truly moves you, there's no need to worry whether it has been revealed before. If this is truly what you have experienced, you shouldn't abandon it just to avoid being the same as others. The author is seeking something that feels right. To achieve this, the author has spent countless springs, summers, autumns, and winters in search of it. Gradually, the author has recognized the appropriateness in the "Lotus Emerging from Water" and "Green Peach" by the Song masters, and can also find appropriateness in nature with a keen eye. The author mixes pomegranate red with a small amount of indigo to create a purplish-red, slightly incorporating a touch of ochre. Clear water is mixed with these colors, allowing them to interact and permeate each other. Then, the author dips into the mixed purplish-red and applies it from the tip of the leaf upward, gradually blending it into the green.
