Features: This book is a university-level Burmese language textbook for undergraduate students, designed for the second-year semester. It consists of 15 lessons, each including text, vocabulary, grammar notes, exercises, and reading materials. It teaches Burmese spoken and simple written language, with a focus on basic Burmese sentence structures to systematically cover fundamental grammar. Students of Burmese at the university level have different foreign language foundations compared to English learners, as Burmese learners start from scratch. Therefore, Burmese Language Course places special emphasis on basic pronunciation training. Additionally, due to the significant differences between written and spoken registers in Burmese, which often pose obstacles for learners, we have adopted a teaching approach that progresses both spoken and written registers simultaneously in the foundational textbook, based on years of teaching experience. The book primarily focuses on teaching basic vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structures, with language training centered around daily conversation content. It aims to enable students to understand and familiarize themselves with the basic linguistic patterns of Burmese after completing the three volumes, achieving a relatively proficient mastery of daily conversations. The main target readers of Burmese Language Course are undergraduate Burmese language majors in universities and colleges. It can also be used as a reference and learning material for Burmese language teachers, researchers, and self-learners.
