Features: The Eighth Route Army is a people's army led by the Communist Party of China. The glorious battle history and historical experience of the Eighth Route Army during the War of Resistance Against Japan, its outstanding contributions and great achievements in liberating the Chinese nation, should be recorded in history and celebrated! At the same time, it is necessary to further promote the spirit of the Eighth Route Army: the spirit of patriotism in resisting Japan and saving the country, the spirit of revolutionary heroism in fighting bravely against enemies, the spirit of perseverance and hard struggle in overcoming difficulties, the spirit of selfless dedication without fear of sacrifice, and the spirit of unity in striving for victory. The spirit of the Eighth Route Army, when fully developed, will enable readers, especially the broad youth, to receive education in patriotism, revolutionary tradition, and national defense, and to strive for the comprehensive construction of a moderately prosperous society and the realization of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. This book is divided into 14 chapters. Chapters 1 to 9 reflect the historical rise of the Eighth Route Army: the outbreak of the nationwide War of Resistance Against Japan, the birth of the leading force, the deployment to the northern front of North China for anti-Japanese warfare, the establishment of anti-Japanese bases in enemy-occupied areas, and its development into the main force of the North China War of Resistance. Chapters 10 to 12 reflect the historical decline: overcoming severe difficulties and persisting in the arduous anti-Japanese warfare in enemy-occupied areas. Chapters 13 to 14 reflect the historical rise again: carrying out partial and full counter-offensive operations, and securing the final victory in the War of Resistance Against Japan.
