Features: This dictionary was compiled for the needs of nine-year compulsory education and is a small language learning tool for primary and secondary school students as well as readers with intermediate Chinese proficiency. The pronunciation in this dictionary is marked using Pinyin letters (in this revision, a tone letter is added at the beginning of each syllable). For words with multiple pronunciations, the phonetic annotation is based on the "Table for the Review of Standardized Pronunciation of Chinese Words" revised in December 1985. At the beginning of the main text, there is a "Pinyin Syllable Index" for word lookup by sound, and a "Radical Index" for word lookup by sound.
