To date, these textbooks have not only been widely used by numerous institutions but are also the largest and most diverse series of tourism textbooks for higher education.
Tourism Psychology provides tourism professionals with a fundamental and scientific approach to thinking and analytical methods. Through the study and research of tourism psychology, people can better understand the needs, interests, and other aspects of both current and potential tourists, grasp their demands, characteristics, and patterns during travel activities, and predict the development trends of tourism behavior. This enables the design and provision of tourism products and services that better meet tourists' needs, as well as the cultivation of tourism professionals who meet the industry's development requirements and possess strong psychological qualities. It also enhances employees' motivation and work efficiency. Additionally, it makes tourism management and operational decision-making more scientific and artistic, contributing to the better development of the tourism industry.
Based on the research achievements of predecessors, this textbook strives to achieve the following:
- In terms of content, it emphasizes building a solid theoretical foundation, connecting theory with practice, guiding students to gradually master systematic psychological analysis methods, and inspiring them to think actively about tourism service, management, and operational issues.
- In terms of structure, each chapter begins with a chapter guide, ends with case studies to provoke reflection and reference, and concludes with thought questions and exercises to facilitate classroom teaching and cultivate students' habits of actively thinking, analyzing, and solving problems.
