How to treat after suffering from candidal vulvovaginitis

Patient's question:

I got married last year. Recently, I've been experiencing lower abdominal pain, especially during my period. I'm very worried about it affecting my fertility, and I'm also extremely sensitive to cold and coldness. If I have candidal vulvovaginitis, what should I do for treatment?

Doctor's answer:

A pregnant woman suffering from candidal vulvovaginitis must receive thorough treatment and should never stop medication once symptoms subside. The treatment method is as follows:
For early pregnancy (within 12 weeks), a 2%-3% soda solution can be used to clean the external genitalia and vagina. At the same time, underwear should be changed daily and washed together with towels and basins.
After 12 weeks of early pregnancy, after cleaning as described above, gently dry the external genitalia and place a nystatin suppository, miconazole, or clotrimazole suppository deep into the vagina. Use it every night before bed. If vulvitis is present, apply miconazole cream to the external genitalia.
A typical course of treatment lasts 10-14 days. After stopping medication, a recheck is performed 7 days later. A third recheck for candidiasis is conducted 2 weeks after symptoms disappear. Treatment can only be considered complete after full recovery.
