Features: Carl Czerny (1791–1857), an Austrian pianist and composer, was born in Vienna on February 21, 1791, and died there on July 15, 1857. He initially studied piano under his father and later became a student of Ludwig van Beethoven from 1800 to 1803, while also exploring the teaching methods of Hummel and Muzio Clementi. At the age of 15, he became a piano teacher, with Franz Liszt being one of his students. Nearly a thousand of his works have been published, including piano pieces for teaching purposes, as well as masses, motets, requiems, symphonies, concertos, overtures, trios, quartets, choral works, and songs. He is the founder of the Vienna Piano School and is renowned worldwide for composing a large number of teaching pieces. His works such as Exercises for Rapid and Fluent Playing, Preliminary Studies in Technique, The Art of Finger Technique, Studies for the Left Hand, and Advanced Technique Studies are widely used. This book is one of the Carl Czerny Piano Teaching Series.
