Deep within the author’s heart lies such immense energy. This book is enough to awaken certain dormant nerves in people: it not only points to the dust of Mount Everest but also to the worldly vanity and clamor, cleansing our souls and helping us rediscover the purity of our hearts. — Zhang Libo (Chinese game developer, outstanding planner, renowned career manager, Chief Career Planner at Longyin Workplace)

It was a privilege to have Lü Yan and her team share the highlights of this Everest environmental campaign with many Tianji netizens. I was amazed and truly grateful that she compiled these into a book in such a short time to share with more people. If you haven’t heard her tell you the story in person, then read this book. I believe the sincerity and pure love that radiate from its pages will be unmistakable. — Zhang Zhu (Beijing Yingke Times Information Technology Co., Ltd., Tianji netizen)
As an important part of the 2008 Green Olympics, the Everest environmental campaign, which began in 2004, has continued for two years. The 2005 campaign ran from May 20 to June 7, involving 35 participants, including journalists from dozens of national news media, representatives of corporate sponsors, and high-altitude support staff. As a participant in the “2005 Earth’s Third Pole Everest Environmental Campaign,” the Peking University girl Lü Yan presents this book in the form of reflective essays interspersed with over 100 photographs, showcasing the unique human geography, majestic and vast landscapes, mysterious and distinctive Tibetan Buddhism, and the simple, natural lifestyle of the Tibetan people in Tibet. It also highlights humanity’s courage to explore and the spirit of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.
Tibet is a way of life, a way of living. This book is suitable for the large number of people in inland China who yearn for Tibet, as well as for Tibetan tourists, climbers and adventurers, environmental organizations and members, those seeking inner peace, and all who have discovered the value of life.
