Features: Medicine is an interdisciplinary science. Although doctors have their own specialized fields, the knowledge they need to access extends far beyond the limited scope of their profession. Even within their own specialties, they encounter terms from other related disciplines, facing the intersection and integration of multidisciplinary knowledge. Therefore, it is often necessary to refer to reference books to understand unfamiliar terms and concepts. The English-Chinese Medical Dictionary is comprehensive in its coverage, including not only medical basic and clinical terminology but also many terms from related disciplines associated with medicine. In addition to transferring entries from Dorland's Illustrated Medical Dictionary, many new entries have been supplemented and selected, making the content of this dictionary even more enriched. The book contains 180,000 entries, each with detailed definitions, covering various branches such as basic medicine, clinical medicine, preventive medicine, rehabilitative medicine, and nursing technology. This revision also adds nearly 5 years of new medical theory and technology terms, and the entire book is annotated with the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), enhancing its modernity and authority. This edition was published in 1989 and won the National Book Award in 1990 as the First Prize of the Fourth "China Book Award". In 1997, it also received the Second Prize of the Second National Dictionary Award.
