Features: Song Wenzhi (1919–1999) was born in Taicang County, Jiangsu Province. In 1940, he graduated from the Shanghai School of the Jiangsu Fine Arts College. In 1957, he joined the Jiangsu National Painting Institute. Over a long period, he received guidance from renowned painters such as Wu Hufan, Zhang Shiyuan, Zhu Qizhan, and Lu Yanshao. In the early 1960s, he participated in the 20,000-li journey organized by the Jiangsu Fine Arts Association to the Northwest, the Two Lakes, and the Eastern Yue regions, where he extensively explored the famous scenic spots and historical sites of the motherland, enriching his life and transforming his artistic style. In 1963, his Selected Works of Song Wenzhi were published. After 1981, he held solo exhibitions in countries such as France, Japan, and Singapore, as well as in cities like Beijing and Nanjing in China. In 1987, he was listed in the World (World) in Cambridge, England. Song Wenzhi possessed profound skills in brushwork and ink, focusing on depicting the new landscapes of the land and water. His style was fresh, vibrant, and particularly renowned for his portrayal of the scenic beauty of the Jiangnan water towns. In his later years, he incorporated ink and color splashes into landscape painting, giving his works a new artistic expression.
