Features: Ancient Chinese, which enjoys a high reputation both domestically and internationally. Many comprehensive universities, higher normal schools, and part-time universities in China use it as a textbook. Many secondary school Chinese teachers, social youth, and administrative officers also take it as a self-study book. In practice, many readers have hoped that a supplementary exercise material for teaching Ancient Chinese would be compiled and published to help improve teaching quality, yet none have been seen until now. We have engaged in teaching Ancient Chinese at different institutions for many years and have accumulated exercises in this regard while using Wang's Ancient Chinese. After more than two years of repeated discussion, revision, expansion, and correction, and three drafts, we have finally compiled this Ancient Chinese Exercise Book (hereinafter referred to as Exercise Book), which includes three parts: Reading, Common Words, and General Theory.
This book is compiled based on the teaching objectives of this course, which is to cultivate students' ability to read ancient books. The book consists of fourteen units. Each unit includes exercises and unit tests for three parts: selected texts (which we call "Reading"), common words, and general theory. Additionally, four mock exams for Ancient Chinese are designed at the end of the book to meet the requirements of self-study exams, qualification exams, university exams, and postgraduate entrance exams.
