Features: Preface Computer image processing technology is a rapidly developing field in the realm of computer technology, driven by the maturation of computer technology and the widespread adoption of personal computers. It has been extensively applied in numerous fields such as medicine, industry, military, resources, environment, meteorology, transportation, public security, and cultural education, achieving significant application results and substantial national economic value. Since 1998, our university has offered this course to doctoral and master's students in the field of Transportation Information Engineering and Control, with a total teaching time of 60 hours. During the teaching process, it was found that the course has a strong mathematical foundation, and this mathematical nature is a key indicator of the maturity of the discipline. As Karl Marx once said, "A science is only truly perfect when it successfully applies mathematics." However, the prominent role of mathematics in this course conflicts with the relatively weak mathematical foundation of graduate students in engineering and non-electronics-related fields. Therefore, after several years of teaching practice, I continuously improved and refined the lecture notes, referring to existing domestic and international literature, and wrote this book. The book is divided into nine chapters. Chapter 1 is an introduction, which primarily introduces the concept of images, the classification and characteristics of image processing technology, a brief history of image processing and its applications, as well as the fundamental content, methods, and development trends of computer image processing. Chapter 2 reviews the mathematical knowledge required to study this book, aiming to remind readers of the mathematical content they should review, including basic calculus, probability theory, and matrix analysis. Chapters 3 through 9 discuss the fundamental research directions of image processing, including transformation, enhancement, restoration, reconstruction, coding, and analysis and understanding. During the writing of this book, relevant content from domestic works of a similar nature was referenced. Here, I express my respect to these experts for their contributions in this field!
