This book is based on the research on the high-tech "863" project—the security technology of broadband wireless IP network systems. It introduces the basic theories and methods of information security, with a focus on the security technologies in wireless local area networks. It not only covers fundamental methods and technologies but also presents the latest research findings and development trends both domestically and internationally, as well as some security solutions and technologies proposed by the author during the research process. The book is divided into two parts, consisting of 12 chapters. The first five chapters focus on the basic theories of network security, while chapters 6 to 12 introduce the security methods and technologies in wireless local area networks. Appendix A introduces the ideas of provable security protocol analysis and design, Appendix B analyzes the performance and security of the WAPI authentication mechanism, and Appendix C introduces a new enhanced wireless authentication infrastructure, EWAP. This book can serve as a teaching material for senior undergraduate or graduate students majoring in computer science, information security, and information countermeasures, as well as a reference for researchers and technical personnel in related fields.
