Features: This series of works collects decades of outstanding and representative academic papers by the members of the Academic Committee. Each member contributes one book, selected by themselves, totaling 41 volumes with approximately 15 million words in total. Tang Kemin, the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Shanghai Ci Shu Press, responsible for the publication of this book, said: “The members of the Academic Committee of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences are senior experts in various fields. Most of them were previously the directors of research institutes or leading figures in their disciplines, and they are all in their 60s and 70s. Selecting and compiling their research achievements over half their lives into a series of books can partially reflect the level of our country's social science research. After reading the manuscripts, we felt that these experts and scholars have a very good academic style, being truthful, pragmatic, and linking theory with practice, setting a great example for the younger generation of scholars.” This collection of essays includes 36 papers, all selected from works published before the year 2000. The author has personally experienced the development of Western Xia studies, ethnic history, and ethnic paleography for over 40 years, and the papers they have written are closely related to the development of these disciplines.
