How to treat uterine polyps

Patient's question:

What should I do if I have uterine polyps? Are there any solutions? It has been bothering me for a long time, and I feel very uncomfortable. I am seeking a solution.

Doctor's answer:

Treatment Plan: Different treatments are adopted based on the size, location, morphology of the polyps, and the patient's age.
1. For larger pedunculated polyps that can be encountered or palpated in the lower uterine segment, the polyps can be removed by dilating the cervix, followed by cervical and uterine scraping to remove remaining polyps and send them for pathological examination.
2. For small focal or diffuse polyps, a D&C (dilation and curettage) should be performed with attention to thorough scraping, especially at the fundus and cornual areas of the uterus.
3. After uterine surgery, anti-infection treatment should be implemented. Clinical diagnosis may involve oral antibiotics.
4. For patients with significant erosion symptoms that do not respond to the above treatments or recur frequently, hysterectomy should be considered.
