Features: Fu Baoshi, a native of Xinyu, Jiangxi, lost his father in childhood and came from a poor background. He studied in Japan, traveled to Europe, taught, painted, and wrote books. When painting, he often took off his clothes and worked with bold, vigorous strokes, like a whirlwind and rain, boldly splashing and then meticulously refining. Within the grandeur and momentum, he revealed precision; within the vitality, he showed sincerity. He took traditional Chinese painting as his foundation, blending techniques from Eastern (Western) painting. With his extraordinary intelligence and talent, he developed the tradition of Chinese painting and formed a unique style. Some critics commented that Fu Baoshi's paintings "leap and move dynamically, completely changing the atmosphere before the Ming and Qing dynasties, which was considered clear, gentle, sparse, tranquil, cold, and actually sweet, vulgar, and weak." They showed the vitality of national rejuvenation and were thus seen as "the representative trend of modern landscape painting."
