Features: The construction of teaching materials is an important part of the entire higher vocational and technical education teaching and learning process. Since the reform and opening-up, with the joint efforts of education administrative departments at all levels, schools, and relevant publishing houses, a number of teaching materials for higher vocational and technical education have been published in various regions. However, overall, teaching materials with the characteristics of higher vocational and technical education are extremely scarce, and many institutions still rely on undergraduate or secondary vocational teaching materials. The construction of teaching materials still lags behind the development needs of higher vocational and technical education. To address this, in 1999, the Ministry of Education organized the formulation of the "Basic Requirements for the Teaching of Foundational Courses in Higher Vocational and Technical Education" (hereinafter referred to as "Basic Requirements") and the "Objectives and Specifications for the Cultivation of Professionals in Higher Vocational and Technical Education" (hereinafter referred to as "Cultivation Specifications"). Through recommendations, tenders, and selections, a team of teachers with high academic standards, rich teaching experience, and strong practical abilities was organized to form the "Ministry of Education Higher Vocational and Technical Education Planning Teaching Materials" writing team. With the active cooperation of relevant publishing houses, a series of "Ministry of Education Higher Vocational and Technical Education Planning Teaching Materials" were launched. The plan is to publish 500 types of teaching materials and complete them within about 5 years. The published teaching materials will cover the foundational courses and core professional courses of higher vocational and technical education. The plan is to first use 2–3 years to build on the existing achievements of higher vocational, higher technical, and adult higher education teaching material construction, fully drawing on the successful experiences of various schools in exploring the cultivation of applied technical talents in recent years, and addressing the availability of teaching materials for higher vocational and technical education in the new era. Then, another 2–3 years will be used, based on the research and project plan of the "Reform and Construction Project of the Cultivation Model and Content System for Higher Vocational and Technical Education in the New Century," to study, reform, and build a large number of Ministry of Education higher vocational and technical education teaching materials, thereby forming an optimized and coordinated higher vocational and technical education teaching material system. The "Ministry of Education Higher Vocational and Technical Education Planning Teaching Materials" are written in accordance with the requirements of the "Basic Requirements" and "Cultivation Specifications," fully drawing on the successful experiences and teaching achievements of higher vocational, higher technical, and adult higher education institutions in exploring the cultivation of applied technical talents, and are suitable for use in secondary vocational colleges, higher vocational colleges, adult colleges, and secondary vocational colleges organized by undergraduate universities and private colleges. Criminal Procedure Law is the legal norm formulated by the state regarding criminal procedure activities. It is the behavioral norm that public security organs, judicial organs, and parties to the lawsuit must abide by during criminal procedure, and it is related to the fair punishment of crimes and the practical protection of the legitimate rights and interests of citizens. In a law-based country of modern civilization, criminal procedure law is one of the most important basic legal departments. Criminal Procedure Law is a science that studies criminal procedure law and criminal procedure judicial practice. It is a fundamental discipline in the modern legal system and a compulsory course for students in various levels and types of law majors. Since its publication in September 2000, this book has been favored by readers and has been reprinted many times. Five years have passed, and there have been significant developments in the research on criminal procedure law and criminal procedure judicial practice in our country. New theoretical viewpoints have continuously emerged, new judicial interpretations and relevant regulatory documents have been issued, and new experiences have been gained in criminal procedure practice. To promptly impart these new theoretical viewpoints, new judicial interpretations, and new practical experiences to students, we have revised the original book. During the revision, we paid attention to both comprehensively and systematically explaining the basic theories and basic knowledge of criminal procedure law in our country and introducing the content of the criminal procedure law and judicial interpretations by the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate, so that students can promptly grasp the new legal provisions. The text also incorporates a considerable number of typical cases and their analyses, making the explanation of the teaching material easier to understand. At the same time, we have added summaries of each chapter, glossary of terms, and case analysis exercises at the end of each chapter, which not only facilitates teachers and students in grasping the key and difficult points of each chapter but also integrates theory with practice, striving to meet the learning characteristics of higher vocational and technical students. The original book was compiled by Professor Wang Xinqing and Professor Zhen Zhen. During the revision, we invited Comrade Li Rong and Comrade Chen Guo to participate. The entire book was revised and finalized by Professor Wang Xinqing. These four comrades are scholars who have been engaged in the teaching and research of criminal procedure law for many years. They not only have rich teaching experience but also have certain practical judicial experience.
