Features: This book is a planned teaching material for higher vocational and technical colleges under the Ministry of Education. It is developed based on the "Basic Requirements for Engineering Drawing Course Teaching" in water conservancy-related majors issued by the Ministry of Education, catering to the needs of cultivating innovative higher technical applied talents in the 21st century. It is written after carefully summarizing the successful experiences of teaching reform in higher vocational and technical colleges. The book consists of twelve chapters. The main content includes: basic knowledge of engineering drawing, fundamental principles of orthographic projection, isometric drawings, views of combined bodies, methods of expressing engineering forms, elevation projection, water conservancy engineering drawings, an introduction to architectural drawings, an introduction to mechanical drawings, and computer-aided drafting. The book has the following features:
1. It establishes a teaching system that integrates basic knowledge and engineering forms. The textbook takes "forms" as the main thread, starting from the recognition of basic bodies, establishing projection concepts, and analyzing the projection characteristics of spatial geometric elements through the analysis of form projections, focusing on cultivating students' spatial thinking abilities.
2. It selects and refines teaching content, aiming for conciseness and depth. The textbook significantly reduces the content of descriptive geometry, lowers the difficulty of solving intersection lines of solid surfaces, decreases the practice of instrument drawing, and lowers the requirements. It increases the content of "computer-aided drafting," adopting the widely used AutoCAD 2000 software to introduce its basic functions, drawing environment, and methods and techniques for drawing. Through learning, students can become relatively proficient in drawing simple professional drawings.
3. It strengthens the cultivation of comprehensive drawing abilities. In addition to instrument drawing, the textbook provides extensive introductions and higher requirements for hand-drawn sketches and computer-aided drafting.
4. It combines practicality and emphasizes application. The book strives to align with production realities, with a large number of illustrations, especially professional drawings, mostly sourced from actual production, with structural complexities primarily designed to meet teaching needs.
5. The textbook is meticulously and standardizedly written. The entire book adopts the newly issued national technical drawing and related professional drawing standards. This textbook is suitable for students of higher vocational and technical colleges in water conservancy engineering construction or related fields, and can also be referenced by relevant engineering technicians.
