() The Collected Works of Fu Lei (Correspondence Volume)

Author: Fu Lei
Publisher:
Publication Date: 1998-12-01
Features: This volume collects various letters written by Mr. Fu Lei. Part 1 consists of 216 letters written to friends or organizations. Most of them are from preserved original drafts or copies. Among them, 98 letters to the couple Huang Binhong and Song Ruoying were selected from The Collection of Fu Lei's Letters (facsimile edition, compiled by the Ancient Books Research and Restoration Office of Shanghai Institute of Education, published by Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House in 1992). Another 14 letters to Professor Jerzy??wieski, the Polish piano teacher of Fu Cong, were discovered at the end of 1996 and are now translated from French to Chinese by Professor Jin Shenghua. The letters are arranged in chronological order by the first time the recipient received them, with slight adjustments to some sequences to maintain continuity of related content. Unfortunately, due to the Cultural Revolution, letters written by Mr. Fu Lei to old friends such as Qian Zhongshu and Yang Xianyi, Ke Ling, and Pang Xunlin have been completely lost, which is truly a pity. Part 2 is The Letters from Fu Lei to His Family, a collection of excerpts from letters written by Fu Lei and his wife to their sons Fu Cong and Fu Min. The letters were written from 1954 to June 1966 and were printed based on the third edition of The Letters from Fu Lei to His Family by The Commercial Press in 1990. The preface, appendices, and postscript from the original book are all retained.
