Could I have an ectopic pregnancy if I'm bleeding?

Patient's question:

Hello doctor, could I possibly have an ectopic pregnancy? I have always had vaginitis. After my last menstrual period, this condition appeared, but it occurred continuously with the period, without a few days of. I urgently look forward to your reply.

Doctor's answer:

Hello: Based on the time of your bleeding and symptoms, it could be considered ovulatory bleeding! It should not be an ectopic pregnancy! During the mid-cycle, i.e., the ovulation period, due to a temporary rise in estrogen levels, the endometrium loses hormonal support and experiences partial endometrial shedding, leading to regular vaginal bleeding, which is known as ovulatory bleeding.
