Features: Father's education for us brothers was very strict and serious. Father instructed me to read, mainly the Four Books, especially the Mencius; he also placed great importance on the Family Letters of Zeng Wen Zheng. Later, he had me read the Complete Works of Wang Yangming, etc. Whether at home or away, he often wrote to us, guiding us on writing, reading, and doing things, as well as the principles of being a person—Jiang Jingguo's ( refers to family teachings).
Mr. Jingguo's extraordinary life, his achievements, and his people-oriented demeanor are well-documented in historical records. Now, scholars from the mainland of China have compiled his diaries and related recollections into a book, which will help deepen the understanding of Mr. Jingguo. The content discusses: Mr. Jingguo's time studying at Sun Yat-sen University in the Soviet Union; his philosophy and persistence in leading the cadre training in Ganzhou, demanding strict training and fostering a spirit of humility to forge steel-like individuals; emphasizing methods in doing things, insisting that one must act with conscience and serve the people more; and providing examples, such as the vast and resource-rich Northwest, which lacks water. He advocated planting more trees, developing transportation, and advancing agriculture to achieve economic construction, encouraging young people to return to the ancient homeland of the great Northwest.
Mr. Jingguo's macro perspective, foresight, and unique leadership style were already evident in his youth and early adulthood. On the other hand, the book also specially records the story of his ancestors, Mr. Jiang, who endured for the sake of the nation and retired with courage. It includes excerpts from his farewell declaration, which evokes deep emotions. Overall, the self-narrative is down-to-earth and filled with genuine passion, inspiring reflection.
I briefly note my thoughts here for reference, hoping to encourage readers to share the same aspirations!
