Chapter 1 introduces the formulation of mathematical physics boundary value problems; Chapter 2 discusses the method of separation of variables; Chapters 3, 4, and 5 delve deeper into the method of separation of variables, covering the method of separation of variables in orthogonal curvilinear coordinates, the series solution method for second-order ordinary differential equations, eigenvalue problems, and the properties and applications of two special functions (Bessel functions and Legendre functions) as eigenfunctions; Chapters 6 and 7 introduce the traveling wave method, integral transform method, and Green's function method, respectively. To reflect scientific new advancements, Chapter 8 introduces the basic solution methods for integral equations and nonlinear equations. This book can be used as a textbook or teaching reference for undergraduate students in higher engineering colleges.
