Features: To strengthen the exchange of publicity and education in environmental protection, and to discuss the experiences of organizing activities for World Environment Day 2004 in various regions, our office compiled and published the book "Profound as the Ocean: World Environment Day in China 2004." The book was preface by Vice Director Pan Yue and is divided into six sections: News Releases, Leaders' Speeches, Theoretical Exploration, World Environment Day Activities, Practice and Reflection, and Media Coverage. It shares the experiences of different regions, summarizes the characteristics of this year's World Environment Day activities, and particularly conducts theoretical discussions on public participation. The book has been distributed to environmental protection bureaus in all provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government, and centrally administered cities, as well as to affiliated units in Beijing, for study and exchange purposes.
