Features: As is customary, every book begins with a few words stating the author's intent or a summary of the content to aid readers in reflection. However, this time is an exception—there's nothing to write. It doesn't qualify as a book; it's merely a lecture. But since it discusses watercolor portraiture, it coincides with the trend of the development of watercolor portraiture. However, examples of books or discussions specifically on watercolor portraiture, especially those reviewing foreign watercolor portraits, are relatively scarce. This article will explore this aspect. It should also be noted that the relatively narrow field of watercolor portraiture is diverse and varied. Given my limited knowledge, I cannot fully understand or encompass other schools or artists. Therefore, the discussion will be confined to the realistic and representational painting methods I practice, or what is traditionally called "classical painting" in the West. Biases are inevitable.
