This book was commissioned by the Education and Training Center of the General Administration of Press and Publication and compiled by the Proofreading Research Committee under the ChinaPublishers Association. This committee is a specialized research institution for proofreading, bringing together a group of renowned proofreading experts in China. Over the years, they have accepted the commission of the Personnel and Education Department of the General Administration to organize one proofreading teacher training program, six proofreading section head training programs, and four proofreading staff training programs. This book is based on the teaching materials of the aforementioned eleven proofreading job training programs and was compiled by language and writing scholars and proofreading experts. It reflects the latest achievements in theoretical research and practical summaries of proofreading, making it a relatively mature basic textbook for proofreading job training. It is also a valuable self-study resource for editors and proofreaders.
