Features: Medicinal Chemistry of Natural Products is one of the vocational and technical pharmacy textbooks organized by the Editorial Committee of Vocational and Technical Pharmacy Textbooks. This textbook closely aligns with the training objectives of vocational and technical pharmacy programs in content, chapter organization, and writing, adhering to the principles of "three foundations" and "five characteristics," and is in line with the current domestic registered pharmacist system, emphasizing practicality. During the writing process, efforts were made to select appropriate materials and present content in a progressive manner, closely linking with production practices. The content of the original Medicinal Chemistry of Natural Products for higher vocational education was adjusted and supplemented. Chapter 7, "Terpenoids," and Chapter 8, "Essential Oils," were merged into one chapter. Additionally, a new chapter on "Marine Natural Products" was added based on the current development trends in medicinal chemistry. While inheriting the original textbook content, each chapter has been enriched with many new research findings. The content highlights the properties, identification, and extraction and separation of compounds, focusing on biologically active chemical constituents when introducing different types of compounds. To enable students to develop certain independent research and development capabilities, Chapter 12 provides a detailed introduction to the research methods for active components of natural products. Moreover, although spectral identification of natural products is not a primary focus of vocational education, some relevant content has been appropriately added to maintain the systematic nature of the textbook.
